Today we had to cancel the trip to Bogue inlet from the Wildlife Ramp at Cedar Point as the wind was very strong and right in our face. We turned and went with the wind to the Old Ferry Dock at the end of Cape Carteret. We met Pam Bader in her sparkling white Grady White and had a nice visit with her in the middle of the White Oak and the ICW. Pam was all white too in her husbands white shirt and tails! She was a striking site among the white caps on the water! We also met Kara Corbin of Barrier Island Kayaks leading a kayaking group. The wind blew us up the ICW. We stopped to climb the spoils island where the White Oak River leaves the waterway. The view from the top was gorgeous as the pictures will show. I would have had another gorgeous picture if I had had the presence of mind to take a picture of Pam too. The shorelines looked clean. We saw very little trash and only picked up where we stopped. Our time limits precluded us from doing more. Elmer, The White Oak River Trashman Stewards of the White Oak River Basin Please visit: www.whiteoakstewards.org
