Susquehanna River "kayaking" Susquehanna River at Millersburg Pennsylvania October 7, 2008. I did a little local paddle at Millersburg today. The Millersburg Ferry was not running. It is a small paddle wheel ferry that crosses the river here. It can carry about 4 cars on the attached barge. It was a beautiful day but it is turning cold and I am just about done for the season. We had our first frost today. After this month there will probably be little or no kayaking until May. The Susquehanna River gauge at Harrisburg was 3.3 feet. The water temperature was about 16 degrees celsius.
